Keeping it going

Yahoo Groups has a "Moderator Central" set up to improve the experience of moderating. They are running a poll:
Which is most problematic for you as a moderator?

They'd had 13331 Votes to date. I was interested to see not only which of these 4 won, but the huge lead it had on the others.

Getting members more engaged 53%
Finding the time to make the group successful 14%
Combating spam and unnecessary posts 19%
Educating new members about the group 15%

Hrm. I expect that there are two distributions, between those who have no trouble with member involvement and those who do. I would assume that a major problem for moderators with someone to moderate is trolls. On all the groups I know with enough traffic to be interesting, trolls are a serious hassle for the moderators.

I'm with Siderea. And what about obnoxious posts (including but not limited to trolls) that aren't per se spam?
