I have been invited to contribute to an encyclopedia in my field of endeavor, by recommendation of a colleague.

The invitation came to Dr. Shaine. I suspect that if they knew I have no doctorate, they might not have extended the invitation (though I will note that at least one other person on their author list has only an honorary doctorate - it is still more than I have).

I suppose I ought to tell them.
