AIM is really stupid! The installation choices are "I use a modem to connect to my service provider." or "I'm permanently connected through a LAN."

Yeah, nobody has laptops that move around at all!

LOL. But those are pretty much the same options for anything that I instal that asks questions about how I connect. I tell everything I'm on a LAN and then go and fix individual settings as needed.

I use trillian - but some folks are hard to get the attention of in the middle of a conversation and a second window opening on their screens serves to get noticed.
