Legislating Sin

This is the woman who prevented the recount of votes in Florida in 2000.

U.S. Representative and senatorial candidate Katherine Harris, in comments to the Florida Baptist Witness (weekly journal of the Florida Baptist State Convention), observed:

“If you are not electing Christians, tried and true, under public scrutiny and pressure, if you’re not electing Christians, then in essence you are going to legislate sin.

“If we are the ones not actively involved in electing those godly men and women,” then “we’re going to have a nation of secular laws. That’s not what our Founding Fathers intended and … certainly isn’t what God intended.”

Dunno whether to laugh or cry. Probably both might be a good idea. I feel like I'm living in some sort of awful parallel universe right now and it's got the crazies in control. 0_o
