This and that
Apr. 12th, 2003 10:03 pmI hate traffic - I especially hate it when it is based not on the volume of cars, but on their difficulty reading signs when the road changes.
Then again, it is my own fault that I was late.
But, ot course, the folks at the MIT High School Studies Program (HSSP), for whom I teach STILL do not have a way to reach them on a class day!
On the other hand, I DID manage to let the students know I would be late to class!
So - on with the day, itself!
I love teaching at HSSP! My first class of the day, Thinking and Feeling, is filled with interesting kids who are mostly patient with each other, ask great questions, and are very open to examination of the topics...
My second class, on Societal COnstruction using Fantasy novels, is high energy. My students range in age from 9 to 18! And they range from Quiet and conteplative to excitable and jumping out of their seats! It is so totally different!
Today, a binch of my earlier class students sat in on my later class - and were ASTONISHED with it - with the degree of chaos in it.
But they want to transfer in! Go figure!
And I had a guest in the later class! My friend Ebeth, from sheroes! It was her first time in one of my classes... I think she was rather bemused, but you should ask HER, I guess!
We hung out and had dinner later. It was a great time - both the teaching and the dinner...
