It was presented to me, earlier, that somebody could not find his/her own words to describe feelings - only steal those of others.

Now, I have already had the discussion concerning my disagreement with that sentiment, in particular, so I am not going to go back over it here.

Instead, I am going to touch on a basic fact of life.

Nothing we say is original. Nothing we say is ours alone. Even when we are at our most creative, the thoughts and notions we express are influenced by a hundred hundred other factors and more. Our words, the flow of our sentences.

And if others then take our words and use them - apply them to THEIR plight - how then is this theft? Are not our words then ringing through the ears and years? Are they not propogating into the future? If we did not want our words to fuel the thoughts of others, to express something more than a moemntary blip of existence, never to influence... why then put them on paper or on the web where others might (will) find them? How can we claim that we do not want them found?

And if you have found my words - and tehy express what is in your heart - at a time when you are finding words hard, yourself, is it not what you would want your words to do for anotehr? Is it not what you would pray - for them - to have happen - to find words that allow them to know that they are not alone...

You are not alone.
