Homecoming
Mar. 7th, 2005 03:12 amI went to the airport to retrieve the same folks whom I dropped off at the airport a bit more than a week ago.
It was, for me, a joyous event, though I suspect to many of them it was a ho-hum event. As Jodel put it, "I did not spend time everyday thinking "gee, I miss Josh!" (To be fair, she also noted that shedidn;t do this with her mother, either.)
OTOH, I did spend some time each day keenly aware of missing one or more of them.
In many ways, they represent, as a group, the antithesis of what my OTHER daily family brings to me. Sure there are conficts and disputes, but it is at a totally different and less urgent level!
So, welcome home, all and sundry. Know that you touch my life - individually and collectively, you do. And thank you.
