Maxwell Smart has used the Cone of Silence for the last time. No longer will he push the button he is not supposed to push, talk into his shoe, or have extended conversations with mailboxes.
Neither will Inspector Gadget have quite the same wry tone he developed over the years.
Don Adams was one of those actors whose brilliance in portraying a particular kind of character made it impossible for directors to see him any other way.
For 4 years, I watched Get Smart. And I always got Smart - he just made sense to me.
May the doors of heaven not slam on your nose, Don Adams!
