Choices

I just watched Deep Impact for the 2nd or 3rd time. (This is the one with the comet that is going to smash into Earth and destroy life as we know it - not to be confused with Armageddon, with the asteroid that is going to smash into Earth and destroy life as we know it.) It is, to me, a bit of a tear jerker. I watched as one character's mother killed herself and then the character chooses to be by her father's side at death instead of living and leaving him to die alone.

I watched as another fled safety to stay with her parents instead of her boyfriend - and then as he left safety to find her. And finally as her parents sent the two young 'uns off with her baby sibling to safety the parents could not find.

So, I am prompted to ask:

Who would you want to spend the end of the world with, if you knew it was coming? And if it is not the person you are now with, why not?
