Euphemisms and Propriety

I am in a public library, a state away from where I live.

I needed to use the lavatory, the water closet, the bathroom, the necessary, the washroom - call it what you will...

I asked for directions to it and the kind librarian explained to me that is was through the door marked "Multi-purpose Room" and then take my first right.

I now have a new name for it!
