Into the Wild by Sarah Beth Durst
Jun. 22nd, 2007 07:17 pmIt came out yesterday. I've been waiting for it since February, when I got to hear the author read some at the Boskone science fiction convention. Both Bruce Coville and Tammy had spoken highly of her writing (and Bruce and Tim were in the audience for the reading, too), so I figured it was worth at least a listen.
I loved it. Our main character is Rapunzel's daughter, who, along with her mother, is in modern day America - Northboro, Massachusetts, as it happens. Why they are there and what happens is, of course, the bulk of the story.
After reading this, I will probably never view fairy tales the same way again! I recommend it a lot.
