A speech therapist, attending a Science Fiction convention with her sibling, made a number of observations, which she shared as a presentation at another such convention (this was in 1999, as far as I can tell, with no follow-up info). It had been scheduled for an hour - the attendees were fascinated - it went 2.5 hours!

After reading the synopsis (link above), I can well understand why! A lot of what is said resonates with my own experience. A part of me wonders what she would see at a BIQ vs. a) the SF con and b) a 'regular' gifted conference.

I commend this link to those of you who like thinking about what unites and separates people, even if it is only yourselves, because the issues go beyond behavior at cons to what can and probably does separate some of us from others of us in our personal, school, and/or work lives.

Talking in "written English," indeed!

Edit: Since posting, I have gone looking or more info, and there is little to be had. More's the pity...
