As I was reading the testimony before a US Senate committee of former US Attorney General William Barr, I was struck by his observation on progress since the initial announcement by the President of military tribunals.
He said: "...when the President first put out his order on military tribunals, there was all
this strum and drone..."
It is a funny enough expression the way he said it, but what he meant was "sturm und drang," which translates to thunder and lightning, but in roughly means hooting and hollering, or turmoil.
And no, this was not a mis-transcription - this is from a prepared statement that was submitted by him.
