School Work
May. 9th, 2004 10:59 amAs some of you, my intrepid readers, know, I am in the midst of trying to complete my long-delayed Bachelors degree, probably a BS (and how fitting).
I have started the first of my three classes - and I have another starting next weekend, though I have to do reading for it in advance. This is the start of the 5th week of class - written assignments must be in by midnight of the Saturday. I had put off the previous Saturday's assignment because I had some activity or another that week and weekend, and was preoccupied or something. So, I had two assignments due this week.
I managed to complete them both. The goal of each assignment, and the course itself, is to better assure that I know what my career path is, my goal for my degree. This is laughable to me - and the purpose of individual assignments is equally laughable.
The first assignment was to interview two people in the field that I wish to enter, to better gauge if I am on the right path. Amusingly enough, one of the recommendations was that I find a person who has risen in the field without benefit of a degree... ;-)
The second was for me to find a scholarly journal article to respond to - but the goal was to familiarize myself with the journals in my field. *sigh* The assignment was a good one, even if the goal was ... um... 'not individualized.'
(A side note - I turned the first three assignements in on time! And I have now turned all of them in 'on time' as I had permission for the delayed one... THIS is an accomplishment for me.)
I have cut it for the sake of lenght. ( Read more... )
